Audit your WooCommerce store on AI-agent readiness. No platform-level scanner exists yet.

WooCommerce 10.3 shipped MCP support in October 2025. The Stripe Agentic Commerce integration is in progress. Unlike Shopify, there's no built-in scanner — and the plugin ecosystem is fragmented. We score all five AI shopping surfaces with 82 checks calibrated for the Woo stack.

Why this matters now

Woo 10.3 + MCP shipped October 2025. WordPress Abilities API underneath. The roadmap mentions ACP via the Store API and OpenAI Product Feed Spec testing. WooCommerce was absent from the UCP launch coalition. Several free WordPress ACP plugins exist, but they're install-and-forget — nothing monitors drift.

Platform normalization

WooCommerce ships with minimal JSON-LD by design. We don't penalize the platform default.

A Woo store with no schema plugin has basic Product JSON-LD generated by core. That's intentional — Woo's philosophy is use a plugin if you want more, not ship everything by default. If we scored that the way we score a fully-loaded Shopify store, every Woo store on the planet would look catastrophic. So we don't.

The structured-data presence check has a floor at 30/100 when no schema plugin is detected. We recommend Yoast SEO Premium, Rank Math, or Schema Pro as the cheapest path to closing the gap, but we don't dock you to zero for using the platform as it ships.

That's also why two Woo stores can score very differently: one with Yoast SEO Premium + Webkul's ACP plugin routinely scores 60+. The same store with stock Woo and no plugins sits closer to the 35–45 range.

Coverage

82 checks, Woo-aware.

Discovery

  • Does /llms.txt exist? Most Woo themes don't auto-generate it.
  • robots.txt agent-rules — many WP robots.txt files predate OAI-SearchBot and PerplexityBot.
  • WP-JSON API discoverability (relevant for MCP, the Model Context Protocol agents use).

Structured data

  • Detect Yoast SEO, Rank Math, Schema Pro, All in One SEO — adjust expectations per plugin.
  • Product JSON-LD field completeness.
  • aggregateRating from WooCommerce reviews vs. plugins (Yotpo, Judge.me, Stamped).

Product data

  • Variations have GTIN under custom fields by default — we check both _global_unique_id (Woo 10+) and common plugin fields.
  • Brand often lives in a taxonomy or custom field rather than a built-in product field.
  • Stock visibility — Woo defaults to in-stock/out-of-stock without quantity unless enabled.

Feed

  • Plugin detection: WooCommerce Google Listings & Ads, Product Feed PRO, ELEX Google Shopping, Pinterest for WooCommerce.
  • Product feed discoverability — is a machine-readable product feed or crawlable product sitemap accessible?
  • Feed cadence and ACP field conformance: coming with uploaded-feed mode.

Transaction readiness

  • Stripe + WooCommerce Stripe Gateway — is Stripe Agentic enabled?
  • WC REST API endpoints reachable?
  • MCP server presence (Woo 10.3+).

Trust & policy

  • WooCommerce default policy pages (Refund, Privacy, Shipping).
  • Contact and About info in Organization schema.
  • Customer review verification.

Common findings

What we usually see on Woo stores.

CRITICAL

No schema plugin installed

The single biggest driver of low Woo scores. Fix path: install Yoast SEO Premium, Rank Math Pro, or Schema Pro — and verify the Product JSON-LD renders on PDPs after activation.

CRITICAL

GTIN field empty

Woo 10+ added _global_unique_id as a built-in field, but older stores still rely on custom-field plugins or leave it blank. This kills Perplexity (GTIN is mandatory). Fix path: bulk-import GTINs via WP All Import, or use the Woo native field if running Woo 10+.

HIGH

No product feed detected

Without a machine-readable product feed, AI-agent surfaces can't ingest your catalog directly. Fix path: install WooCommerce Google Listings & Ads (covers Google and Perplexity via Merchant Center) or Product Feed PRO for multi-channel coverage. Detailed cadence and field-coverage checks are coming with uploaded-feed mode.

Fix paths

Every WooCommerce failure deep-links to the exact WP-Admin path.

/llms.txt missing

WordPress doesn't host /llms.txt natively. Install our recommended free plugin (AI Discovery for WordPress) or add the file via a MU-plugin. We generate the recommended content from your catalog and link to the install guide.

Product JSON-LD brand empty

WP-Admin → Yoast SEO → Search Appearance → Content Types → Products → Schema → Brand. For Rank Math: WP-Admin → Rank Math → Schema → Products → Brand. We link to both vendor docs.

FAQ

Common questions from Woo merchants.

I'm on WooCommerce with no schema plugin. Will I score zero?
No. We floor structured-data checks at 30/100 if no plugin is detected, and we recommend a plugin. We don't penalize the platform default — that would be unfair.
I'm on WP Engine / Kinsta / Pressable / WordPress.com. Does this work?
Yes. We crawl the public storefront — we don't care about your host. If your host has aggressive bot protection, allowlist AiCommerceAuditBot/1.0 and contact us for rollout details.
I use a page builder (Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder). Does that matter?
Page builders don't usually affect the schema we check — we read the rendered HTML and the WC REST API. If your builder duplicates Product schema in a page block, we'll detect the duplication and flag it.
I'm on WooCommerce subscriptions / WooCommerce memberships. Does this work?
Yes for catalog audit. For ACP/UCP, subscription products have specific feed requirements that we check separately.
What about WooCommerce Bookings or hotels?
We audit them with the same engine, but the relevant scoring weight for non-physical goods on agent surfaces is lower — most surfaces (ACP, UCP, Perplexity) are tuned for physical commerce. The report calls that out.
Will the WooCommerce core team ship their own scanner?
Possibly. Automattic's roadmap mentions ACP testing but no scanner is announced. Even if one ships, it'll be Woo-only on Woo checks; we cover the multi-surface scoring and (for agencies) the multi-store dashboard that no platform-native tool will.

Audit my WooCommerce store.

A sample Woo audit scores 44/100. Plugin-loaded Woo stores routinely score higher.
