Shopify's own tool won't score your Shopify store. We do.

As of 2026-05-24, run Shopify's free tool on your store and it just says “you're all set” — no score, nothing to act on. We give your Shopify store an actual score across all five AI shopping surfaces (ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Meta, Microsoft Copilot), check the whole store — not one product page — and hand back a ranked fix list deep-linked to the exact admin path, theme file, or app. We don't replatform you and we don't change anything. We tell you what's costing you score and where to fix it.

Honest take

What Shopify's tool checks — and the gaps it leaves.

Shopify's free tool is good for

  • A schema sanity-check on one product page (name, description, image, price, availability, variants, ratings)
  • Confirming your store is recognized as on-Shopify / in Catalog
  • A no-login, 30-second look

What it doesn't do

  • Give your Shopify store a score — it returns "you're set" and stops
  • Look past a single product page at your whole store
  • Cover Perplexity, Meta, or Microsoft Copilot
  • Check /llms.txt, the UCP profile, sitemap, or policy/transaction signals
  • Rank fixes, deep-link them, or flag when a spec change moved your score

Their tool answers “is this one product page marked up?” Ours answers “is this whole store ready to be picked by an agent, on every surface — and what do I fix first?”

Coverage delta

Five things their tool doesn't do.

  1. 01

It actually scores your Shopify store

Shopify's tool refuses to score on-Shopify URLs — it just says you're set. We give you a number, a grade, and a per-surface breakdown.

  2. 02

    Whole-store, not one product page

We sample up to 20 PDPs plus your /llms.txt, sitemap, policy pages, feed signals, and transaction setup — not a single URL's JSON-LD.

  3. 03

    All five surfaces scored

ChatGPT/ACP, Google/UCP, Perplexity, Meta, and Microsoft Copilot — each scored. Shopify's tool checks product schema and crawler access, not per-surface readiness.

  4. 04

Ranked fix list with admin deep-links

Every failure links to the Shopify admin page, theme file, or app install URL that fixes it — not 'go check your structured data.'

  5. 05

    Re-pinning and history

ACP shipped 6 dated releases in 7 months. We re-pin to each release and (on paid) re-audit and alert on score-delta. Shopify's tool doesn't expose its spec version.

Credit where it's due

What Shopify's tool does well.

  • It's free, official, no login. Hard to beat on price.
  • It's a quick, accurate single-page schema check. If all you want is “did this one product page get its JSON-LD right,” it answers that in 30 seconds.
  • It reads Catalog / on-Shopify status directly, which an outside crawler can only infer.

We don't pretend to do those three better. The difference is scope: one product page's schema vs. a whole store across five surfaces, with fixes.

Why merchants run it

Three reasons to run a full audit.

01

They want a real diagnosis

Catalog auto-populating your product schema doesn't mean /llms.txt exists, policies are crawlable, or GTINs are complete for Perplexity.

02

More than one store, or Shopify and BC/Woo

A flagship + a B2B store + an old BigCommerce account from an acquisition. One scoring standard across all of them.

03

Agencies with 5+ clients

Need a dashboard, white-label PDFs, and Slack alerts on score-delta.

FAQ

Common questions from Shopify merchants.

Shopify's own tool said my store is "all set." Why run yours?
As of 2026-05-24, "all set" isn't a score — it's Shopify confirming you're on Shopify. Their tool won't tell you whether your /llms.txt exists, your policies are crawlable, your GTINs are complete for Perplexity, or how you read on Meta and Copilot. We score all of that and rank what to fix.
Is your scanner more accurate than Shopify's on product schema?
On the single-product-page schema checks Shopify's tool runs, we're at parity — we read the same markup. The difference isn't accuracy on that one page; it's that we score the whole store across 5 surfaces with 82 checks, and they score one page and stop.
My Shopify store was auto-enabled on Agentic Storefronts on March 24. Do I need to do anything?
The auto-enablement covers the plumbing (Catalog → ChatGPT, Catalog → Google AI Mode). It doesn't guarantee your data is good. Agentic Storefronts will happily route an agent to your store and let it fail because your GTINs are blank or your return policy isn't crawlable.
Can I opt out of being scored by agents?
Yes. We tell you exactly which robots.txt lines disallow ChatGPT, Google-Extended, PerplexityBot, OAI-SearchBot, GPTBot, and ClaudeBot. We're an audit tool, not an enabler.
Are you in the Shopify App Store?
A listing is coming. We focused first on BigCommerce, where there's no native tool at all. Shopify already has several third-party scanners; we'll list there once the multi-store dashboard ships.
Why isn't Shopify your hero platform?
We lead with BigCommerce and WooCommerce because that's where the gap is widest — Shopify's own tool already scans (and pitches) non-Shopify stores, and WooCommerce was left out of Google's UCP launch entirely. Shopify is supported equally; it's just not where the gap is biggest.

Audit my Shopify store.

Shopify's tool tells you you're on Shopify. We tell you whether you're ready.
